Lampeter Community Preschool

Relationship to the Church
The preschool is a non-profit organization sponsored by the Lampeter Church of the
Brethren and is open to all children.  We place an emphasis on values such as love, compassion and understanding.

Mission
The Lampeter Community Preschool seeks to provide a loving and caring environment in which the child can joyfully adjust to being away form home, learn to share with others, and develop an enthusiasm for learning.

Aims

  • To affirm the uniqueness of each child
  • To encourage positive development socially, emotionally and spiritually.
  • To help the child develop positive relationships with teachers and peers.
  • To offer creative play to learn basic skills.

Meet Our Preschool Staff

Mrs. Holly Heyser

Mrs. Heyser teaches the morning 4- and 5-year-old Pre-K class, and also acts as the Preschool Director. Prior to teaching within our preschool, she was a helper in the 2-year-old class.  She is also a Sunday school teacher at her church in Millersville.  Mrs. Heyser has a degree in Elementary Education and taught third grade in the Ephrata Area School District for four years.  She has been a homemaker for 9 years.

Mrs. Heyser lives in Strasburg with her husband, Bill, and their three children, Billy, Beau and Bella.  Mrs. Heyser says, "I love working with children and look forward to my time with the 4- and 5-year-olds!"

 Mrs. Marybeth Gochnauer

Mrs. Gochnauer teaches the morning 4- and 5-year-old Pre-K class. She lives in Strasburg with her husband, Brad, and their three children, Emma, Drew and Molly.

Mrs. Gochnauer has a degree in Elementary and Special Education from Penn State University.  She worked as a learning support teacher before having children.  She loves spending time with her family, reading and gardening.

 

Mrs. Stacy McEligot

Mrs. McEligot teaches a morning 3- and 4-year-old class and a 2-year-old class.  She lives in West Lampeter with her husband and two school-age daughters.  Prior to moving to Pennsylvania in 2004, Mrs. McEligot lived in Charlotte, North Carolina and Baltimore, Maryland. 

Her background is in teaching and clinical social work.  Mrs. McEligot enjoys spending time with her family and reading.

 

Mrs. Lisa Capolupo

Mrs. Capolupo is a classroom helper at the preschool.  She lives in Lancaster with her husband, Bob, and their 8-year-old daughter Emily.  Lisa grew up in New Jersey.  She attended Susquehanna University and Bucknell University.  She enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends.  Lisa and her family enjoy vacationing in Rehoboth, Delaware.  They have a Cavapoo dog named Cocoa.

 

Mrs. Bucher

Mrs. Bucher is a helper in the 3- and 4-year-old class, as well as in the 4- and 4-year-old Pre-K class. She has grown up in the area, and she and her husband are raising their three daughters in Willow Street. She enjoys spending time at the beach, and attending their girls' sporting events.

 

Ms. Byrnes

Ms. Byrnes is a classroom helper at the preschool. She grew up in Lancaster County. After attending the University of Delaware, she moved on to live in Philadelphia, and then new York City. Allyson currently resides in the Lampeter-Strasburg School District with her fiance Shawn and their 4-year-old daughter Laela, who is a student at the preschool. Ms. Byrnes enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys traveling with her family to Ocean City, New Jersey, and Disney World. She is very grateful  for the opportunity to work with the children and staff at the preschool.

Lampeter Preschool Registration Information

Registration for 2012-2013 will be open on January 23rd, 2012 for current preschool families and church members.  Registration will be open to the public on January 30th.

 OPEN HOUSE!

Come visit our preschool from January 30 through February 3. Drop-in any morning between 9:00 AM and 11:30 AM. children are welcome to visit, too!
